Perform all collection functions to ensure appropriate collections are made for all DME services as well as assist the DME Biller to ensure all claims are being submitted accurately and in a timely manner to maximize receivables and minimize the outstanding receivable more than 90 days.

  • As primary collector for DME services, will ensure proficiency, accuracy and delivery of services on a daily basis according to policies set forth by Hacienda HealthCare
  • Capable of working remotely without direct supervision while meeting all collection expectations
  • Capable of working on campus as scheduled as directed by Director of Revenue Cycle
  • Maintain established data collection system that ensures resubmitted claims for services rendered are prepared correctly and timely according to HHC’s Corporate Policy and Procedure to avoid delays in payment
  • Maintain established reports that track all outstanding receivables
  • Maintain accurate, complete and organized patient files with appropriate documentation as per HHC’s Policy and Procedure
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of all insurance rules and regulations as it relates to Federal, State and Managed Care Payers with continued education as needed to ensure compliance with all billing and collection changes
  • Understand and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Follow established standards as determined by the mentorship provided by the Director in order to maximize financial goals as set by HHC
  • Perform duties following safety standards required for this position including but not limited to use of PPE’s
  • Attend all training sessions required by the company

Minimum Qualifications:  Minimum needed to be able to perform the job:

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent 
  • 5+ years’ experience in medical billing and collections preferred
  • Attention to detail and able to prioritize multiple deadlines effectively
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook software
  • Knowledge of CareVoyant , Caretends and Emdeon software or compatible software
